Fill in the blank Stories, can anybody give me tips how to solve them right?

Do you have a list of vocabulary words to fill in the blanks? This paragraph looks like you fill in the correct preposition. (with, by, upon...) If you fill in the blank with verbs, check the correct tense that fits. (race, raced, racing) I think it's just trial and error. Good Luck!
