Crocheting vs Knitting?

OK, which is which? Which uses one needle and which uses two? Which do you prefer? Which is easier to learn? And is there a difference when making a blanket or scarves? (I have never done any of it and am real curious) Please answer All of the questions if possible, if not anyone else, please! Thanks y'all!
