What exactly happened to Carmen on the George Lopez show? why isn't she on it anymore?

after the episode where jason leaves her and she runs away the day Max graduates elementary or junior high whatever hes in, i cant find any information on what happened to her.. then all of a sudden Veronica shows up... what happened to Carmen?
