Electrolysis of brine?

I made my own solution of brine by making a saturated solution of NaCl. Then I put a current through the solution and chlorine gas was produced as expected. What was not expected was that the solution is a slight yellow and that a red substance precipitated and a black one also. Does anyone know what these substances are. I used normal table salt and tap water.
